When your child has eczema, it gets tough!
Your day revolves around applying creams or wraps, trying to stop the constant scratching, and trying to find out what is causing things to flare up (yet again!).
You try many products that are supposed to help but do nothing, or even make it worse. You learn that everyday things, even their clothing, can become a trigger for a flare up.
After a while, it becomes your normal, but I reached a point where I was just fed up.
Fed up with waking up night after night, to find they had scratch themselves sore once again, leaving bloody sheets and upset children. Tired of spending money on gimmicky products that failed, and frustrated with how hard it was to find something that actually worked!
I just wanted to find something that would give them some relief, so I could put them to bed with the peace of mind that they wouldn't be able to do more damage to their fragile skin.
Getting It Right
I knew that if I could create a secure, skin-kind barrier to stop damage from their fingernails, it would go a long way to making things better - and so the idea for a an eczema suit came along.
Getting it right has taken years of development, testing, and listening to other parents and children.
Every design, every seam, and fabric choice has been through countless rounds of development and reviews. I worked with dermatology specialists, textile experts, and parents like you to make sure the garments truly meet the needs of itchy, sensitive skin.
Each piece is designed by experts, and skin kind, hypoallergenic, and free from dyes and harsh substances. They’re made to be soft, breathable, and long-lasting.
It’s been a long process, but I wanted to ensure as far as possible, that parents won't be let down by another gimmicky product.
Our Mission
Skinakin was born from frustration from night-time scratching, but we are now on a bigger mission - to help children and parents with evidence based products that make managing eczema a little easier.
It’s for parents who are tired of wasting money on things that promise the earth, and for children who deserve better.
Every garment we make is designed with one goal in mind: To bring comfort, calm, and confidence back into everyday life.
